Update on Chansons d’Haiti Project

The Chansons d’Haiti project is moving along well and the following events took place over the last six months:

July 2nd 2012: Presentation of music project by Karine Margron to personalities of the music world and music school directors. Great enthusiasm for “Chansons d’Haiti”.

November 22, 2012: Official launching of “Chansons d’Haiti” first phase project, overview of future projects, announcement of availability of material for music schools, regular schools with a particular interest in music and to interested artists for free.

September, 2012: Distribution of scholarships to students for new school year 2012/2013.

January 19, 2013: Official presentation of the first 3 Volumes and CDs sponsored by Fondation Culture Creation and Fondation Connaissance et Liberte (FOKAL). The event held at FOKAL’s theatre in Port-au-Prince was greeted by a very enthousiastic crowd of music lovers and personalities involved in the arts. All attendants were presented with copies of the first 2 volumes and a limited edition of the 3rd volume with CD was on sale. The presentation was followed by cocktails and appetizers to everyone’s delight.
