The FORF is a family foundation that was created by Odette Roy Fombrun in 2007 as a not-for-profit organization whose primary objectives are to promote Education and to foster Economic Development for Haiti. It is closely managed by Odette Roy Fombrun’s five children, under the leadership of Executive Director Marie-Claude Bayard, and is guided by a Board of Directors that consists of prominent experts who assist in fund-raising and in making resource allocation decisions.
FORF’S founder Odette Roy Fombrun was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on 13 June 1917. She is a prolific author whose many books and articles are devoted to the twin objectives of education and development for Haiti. Mrs. Fombrun has received a variety of prizes and awards over the years. In 2009, she was named a “Living National Treasure” by the Fondation Françoise Canez Auguste and Image et Marketing S.A.
